Funeral Service for Aagot Pelton, 96, of Killdeer formerly of the Werner area is 10:00 a. m. , Friday, August 8, 2008 at Our Savior?s Lutheran Church in Halliday. Pastor Joel Sauerwein will be officiating. Burial to follow in the Werner Cemetery. Visitation will be 8 a. m. to 2 p. m. , Thursday, August 7, 2008 at Stevenson Funeral Home,Dickinson and continuing from 4 p. m. to 9 p. m. at Stevenson Funeral Home, Killdeer with a prayer service at 7 p. m. in Killdeer, ND. Aagot passed away on Sunday, August 3, 2008 at the Hill Top Home of Comfort in Killdeer. Aagot was born April 23, 1912 the daughter of Jens and Sigrid (Hjelbo) Vetleson at the homestead farm in Dunn County north of Werner, ND. She grew up helping on the farm and attended Pioneer school and graduated from Werner High School. On May 29, 1930, Aagot and Sam Pelton were united in marriage in Schafer, ND. Together, they farmed and raised their family northwest of Werner, ND for 45 plus years and retired in Halliday, ND. After retiring, they spent seventeen winters in AZ. The last three years she made her home at Evergreen in Dickinson and due to failing health moved to Hilltop Home of Comfort in Killdeer to be closer to family. In her earlier years, she was noted for being ?the fastest milker around?. She also raised turkeys and sold cream and eggs to help buy groceries during the depression. She enjoyed quilting in her later years. Aagot was a member of the Werner and Halliday Lutheran Churches and women?s church organizations and Halliday Senior Citizens. She is survived by: sons, Clive (Patricia), Killdeer, ND and Earl(Darlene), Halliday, ND; ten grandchildren, twenty seven great grandchildren and thirteen great-great grandchildren. Aagot is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Sam in 1994 and one grandson, Roy in 1982.
