Aaron Lapp

A Funeral Service for Aaron Lapp, 73, of Mandan, formerly of Beulah, will be held at 11:00 a.m. CT., Thursday, February 27, 2025 at Evangel Church in Bismarck. Burial will follow at the Beulah Cemetery. 

Visitation for Aaron will be held an hour prior to the service at the church. 

Aaron passed away on Friday, February 14, 2025 at Sanford Hospital in Bismarck.

Aaron Neal Lapp was born February 5, 1952 in Richardton, the son of John Edwin and Eleanora Edna (Kungel) Lapp. He was raised in Hebron, where he attended and graduated from Hebron Public School in 1970. Aaron then went to Dickinson State College for four years, graduating in 1974. On June 4, 1973, Aaron married Cynthia Ruth Bauer at Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church in Broomfield, Colorado. To this union, two daughters, Jennifer and Lisa were born. After college, Aaron was a music teacher for one year in Hettinger, ND. He also worked for American Colloid Company for a year before beginning his work at Knife River Coal Mining Company in Hettinger. In 2000, the family moved to Beulah, ND, where Aaron worked for Westmoreland Coal Mining Company until he retired in 2011. Aaron was the founder of the North Dakota Friends of Deaf Children Foundation, Inc., founded in 1993, at the ND School for the Deaf in Devils Lake, ND. He also served his community as a Sunday school teacher, youth group leader, Elks Lodge member, New Life Worship Center member and a sign language interpreter.

Aaron is survived by his wife, Cynthia of Mandan; his daughters, Jennifer Sunshine (Lance) Newell, SD, and Lisa Fawn (Alberto) Vega of Minot, ND; Chancellor, Nadia, Veronica, Felicia; and one brother, Myron (Betty) Lapp of Bismarck, ND.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John & Eleanora Lapp.

In lieu of flowers, Aaron’s family suggest donations be made to the Alzheimer’s association.
