Funeral Mass for Ackie Kuntz, 76, of Billings MT, formerly of Wolf Point, MT and Dickinson, ND will be 10:00 am, Monday, January 14, 2019 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Dickinson with Father Keith Streifel celebrating.  Inurnment will take place in the church cemetery.

Visitation for Ackie will be 3:30 pm – 5:00 pm Sunday, January 13, 2019, at Stevenson Funeral Home with a rosary and vigil service being held at 4:00 pm.

Ackie passed away January 5, 2019 in Rosebud Health Care Center, Forsyth, MT.

Aquilinus Anton was born October 30, 1942 in Dickinson, the son of Frank and Beatrice (Billman) Kuntz.  Growing up he attended elementary school in Scheffield and later graduated from Dickinson High School.  Ackie married Judy Neutgens on September 19, 1964 in Immaculate Conception Church of Wolf Point, MT.  Their marriage was blessed with three sons.  Ackie managed a shoe store in Missoula, MT before the couple moved to Wolf Point.  Through the years, Ackie worked for Butzies Bar as a bartender and Kenco Oil Refinery. He owned and operated El Rancho Motel, was a car salesman at High Plains Motors and sold real estate for Ag Land Realty before moving to Dickinson where he continued working in real estate part-time.  In 2012, he retired in Billings, MT.  Ackie was active in his Wolf Point community, serving with the Jaycees, City Council member, 4
th
Degree Knights of Columbus, Elks member and seated as chairman of the Wolf Point Stampede Rodeo committee for many years.  He was instrumental in starting the Matched Bronc Ride in Wolf Point that featured the top bronc riders in North America and served as the Grand Marshall of the Wild Horse Stampede in 2017.  Ackie enjoyed life… camping, lake time, boating, gardening, rodeo, old country music concerts and listening to Elvis.  He especially enjoyed watching his kids and grandkids activities.

Ackie is survived by his wife, Judy; sons, Shan (Jerrae) Kuntz of Forsyth, MT and their children, Haley Morales (Jeff) , Logan and Rylan; JT (Missy) Kuntz of Meridian, ID and their children, Taylor Fajardo (Danio III) and McKenzie; Dirk (Lori) Kuntz of Dickinson and their children, Mason and Kaden; 2 great-grandchildren Danio IV and Bradshaw Fajardo; sisters, Leona Pachl of Apache Junction, AZ, Angie (Don) Faller of Dickinson; brother, Doug (Carol) Kuntz of Henderson, NV.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Beatrice; brother-in-law, Bob Pachl; sister-in-law, Elaine Kuntz.
