Funeral Mass for Adam Ell, 86, of Killdeer will be 10:30 a.m., Thursday, July 12, 2012 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Killdeer with Father Darnis Selvanayakam celebrating. Burial will follow in the Killdeer Cemetery. Military Rites will be by the Ezra Barrows Post #46 of Killdeer.


Visitation for Adam will be from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 11, 2012 at Stevenson Funeral Home, Killdeer, with a Rosary and Vigil service being held at 7:00 p.m.


Adam passed away Saturday, July 7, 2012 at St. Joseph’s Hospital and Health Center in Dickinson, ND.


Adam was born March 5, 1926 in Snow, ND, the son of Adolph and Frances (Jordan) Ell. He grew up and attended country schools near Snow. As a young man, Adam worked with his family on the farm prior to being drafted into the United States Army serving in World War II. After returning home after the war, he met Irene Tuhy. The two were united in marriage on November 13, 1956 in Killdeer. To this union four boys were born: David, Derald, Donald and Dale. Together, they farmed and ranched southwest of Killdeer. He enjoyed going into town, being with his friends and spending time outdoors with his cattle. Adam especially loved his grandchildren and his cat “Martin”, listening to music, and eating hotdogs. Adam was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Killdeer.


Adam is survived by his wife, Irene; four sons, David (Mary) of Dickinson, Derald of Killdeer, Donald (Lynn) of Williston, and Dale of Enderlin, ND; three grandchildren, Billie, Shawn and Keaten; and one great-grandson, Hugo.


He was preceded in death by his parents, Adolph and Frances Ell; two brothers, Jack and Nick; and three sisters, Peg Ell, Rose Boehm, and Monica Schaff.
