Funeral Mass for Adeline Erdle, 83, of Bismarck formerly of Richardton will be 10:00 a. m. MST, Wednesday, December 23, 2009 at St. Mary?s Catholic Church in Richardton, North Dakota with Father Boniface Muggli O. S. B. and Abbot Brian Wangler O. S. B. celebrating. Burial will be in the family lot at St. Mary?s Catholic Cemetery in Richardton. Visitation will be Tuesday, December 22, 2009 from 1:00 p. m. to 9:00 p. m. , MST, including a Rosary and Vigil at 7:00 p. m. , MST, at Stevenson Funeral Home, Dickinson. Visitation will continue on Wednesday, December 23, one hour prior to the service at the church. Adeline Erdle, 83, passed peacefully away at her home in Bismarck, ND on Sunday, December 20, 2009 after a 14 month battle with stomach cancer. She was surrounded by her loved ones. Adeline was born February 23, 1926, in Taylor, ND, daughter of Jacob and Barbara Magelky. She had an older sister, Annabelle; a younger sister, Shirley; and a younger brother, Jim. They lived 15 miles north of Taylor, ND, on the Magelky homestead until Adeline was 8 years old. They moved into Taylor in 1936. In 1941, she moved on the Stoxen Farm, which is now the Taylor Nursery. She moved to Richardton in 1945, where she met her husband, John Erdle. They were married on October 19, 1948, at St. Mary?s Church in Richardton. They farmed in Richardton, ND and were part owners of a John Deere Implement business where she did bookkeeping for many years. Adeline was actively involved in Christian Mothers, Catholic daughters, Hospital Auxiliary, American Legion Auxiliary and taught catechism for eight years. She was an active member of St. Mary?s Catholic Church of Richardton, ND. Adeline and John loved to fish and spent almost every weekend in the summer at Mossett Bay on Lake Sakakawea with family and friends and also loved playing cards with their friends. Adeline had a great love for sports and hardly missed a game of basketball or baseball. She spent many winters in Arizona where her daughter lived. She moved from the family farm into Bismarck, ND, in 2007 to be closer to children. She was the model of strength as a result of her dedication to prayer and love for God. Her philosophy in life was ?To Trust in the Lord in all things?. She loved fiercely, gave generously and lived courageously until the very end. Her faith was strong and her trust in God was unbreakable and she fought her cancer with strength and peace and was ready to go and be with the Lord. Now, she is our guardian angel?. and we are so blessed that she is our guardian angel. She was an amazing mother to her children. She is survived by her 8 children; Jerry Erdle of Canoga Park, CA; Kathy (Tom) Heimbuch of Cogswell, ND; Jim Erdle of Richardton, ND; Mary (Al) Mooer of Glendive, MT; Lucy Trotman of Bismarck, ND; Karen (Glenn) Elstoen of Allen, TX; Tim (Mary) Erdle of Marine on St. Croix, MN; Tess (Lee) Hoff of Bismarck, ND. She is also survived by her sister, Shirley (Bill) Foreman of Greencastle, PA; and her brother, Jim (Margaret) Magelky of Bismarck, ND. She is survived by 15 grandchildren: Heather, Chad, Josh, Jordan, Shelby, Nathan, Scott, Brandon, Dustin, Russell, Stacia, Isaac, Daniel, Brittany and Erika; 2 great-grandchildren; Skyler and Kaia. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jacob and Barbara Magelky; her husband, John, and her sister, Annabelle Stockie.
