Adolph Burkhardt, 88, of Dickinson passed away on Monday, August 18, 2003 at St. Joseph’s Hospital and Health Center.
Adolph was born March 13, 1915, north of Hebron to Rudolph and Karoline (Schnaidt) Burkhardt. He was raised in the Hebron and Dickinson areas along with attending school in Wahpeton for welding and carpentry. On December 16, 1945, Adolph married Jorine Gudrin Frafjord. Together the couple ranched southwest of Medora until 1977, at which time they retired and moved to Medora. In 1997, they made their home in Dickinson.
Adolph was a member of the Elks, board member of the Theodore Roosevelt Medora Foundation and President of the Medora Grazing Association.
He will be missed greatly by his wife of 57 years, Jorine, of Dickinson, two sons, Garret (Kris) of Dickinson, Barry of Centerville, UT; two daughters, Sharon (Ron) Berndt of Snyder, TX, Peggy (Mike) Scanson of Livingston, MT; six grandchildren; one great grandchild; one sister Ida Dunford of Virginia Beach, VA. His parents, six sibilings and one great grandchild preceded him in death.
