Adolph Kudrna, 84, South Heart, died Thursday, June 12, 2003, at St. Joseph?s Hospital & Health Center, Dickinson. Mass of Christian Burial will be 2 p. m. Monday, at St. Mary?s Catholic Church, South Heart, with the Rev. Shannon Lucht celebrating. Interment will be in St. Mary?s Cemetery, South Heart. Visitation will be Sunday at Price-Murphy Funeral Home from noon to 9 p. m. with a rosary and prayer service at 7 p. m. Adolph Kudrna was born April 24, 1919, to Frank and Philomena (Pavlicek) Kudrna. He grew up and attended school at South Heart. On April 2, 1940, he married Margaret Praus at St. Joseph?s Catholic Church in Dickinson. In 1945, they moved to their farm five miles south of South Heart, where together they raised five children. Adolph traveled south, custom combining for 15 years. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Eagles, and Elks. He enjoyed visiting with friends, playing cards, and spending time with his grandchildren. Adolph is survived by: five children, Shirley (Bob) Loritz, Las Vegas, Nev. , Virginia (Skip) Nelson, Las Vegas, Nev. , Gerri (Marv) Huschka, Bismarck, Ken (Noreen) Kudrna, Dickinson and Marilyn (Duane) Steffan, Dickinson; 13 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren; two brothers; Frank (Mabel) Kudrna, Casper, Wyo. and Edward Kudrna, Dickinson; two sisters, Rose Privratsky and Minnie Pirkl, both of Dickinson; five step brothers, Laudie, Dickinson, Don (Millie), South Heart, Raymond (Shirley), Overland Park, KS, Wayne (Rosalie), Dickinson, Robert (Jeanette) Kudrna, Hettinger, ND; five step sisters, Margaret (Frank) Fendrick, Billings, Mont. , Dorothy (Andrew) Ficek, Dickinson, Eleanor Badinger, Spokane, Wash. , Darlene (Bob) Betchner, Mandan, ND, Delores (Darrold) Raab, Dickinson; one step sister-in-law, Josephine Kudrna, Phoenix, Ariz. He was preceded in death by: his wife, Margaret, on November 22, 2001; parents; one brother, Vince; one sister, Mary Kostelecky and three step brothers.
