Aggie passed away Friday, October 28, 2016 at Dahl Memorial Healthcare in Ekalaka. Agnes “Aggie” Collins was born January 18, 1918, the daughter of Jacob and Carrie (Heggen) Lilletvedt. She lived on the ranch for several years before moving with the family to Everett, WA. When her mother passed away, Aggie returned to Ekalaka at the age of 5, with the three oldest siblings, to live with her Grandpa and Grandma Heggen. Her two youngest siblings remained in Washington and were adopted. Aggie grew up and graduated from Carter County High School. She worked as a waitress and it was during this time that she met Raymond Collins and the two were married on March 1, 1937 in Ekalaka. The couple made their home in Ekalaka, raising their eight children. Throughout the years, Aggie worked as a waitress and a store clerk. She always had a milk cow that could be found staked out all over Ekalaka. In later years, she lived in Miles City, Billings, and Baker. Aggie especially enjoyed the trips to Norway. About 50 years after Aggie moved back to MT, her youngest sister, Helen, wrote a letter to their father, Jacob, who had passed away and the post office gave it to Aggie. She called Helen and a few weeks later she and a brother went to Washington to meet her. At that time they were also able to check the adoption records and locate the brother that had been adopted out at the same time as Helen. Aggie is survived by her children: Raymond Edgar (Wanda) Collins of Albuquerque, NM, Donna Fae Lewis of Ekalaka, MT, Jerome Patrick “Jerry” (LaRay) Collins of Billings, MT, Larry Frank (Charlotte) Collins of Alma, NE, Sheila Rae (Douglas) Pinager of Denver, CO, Janice Morine Collins of Mobridge, SD; 17 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren and 18 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Raymond; sons, Gordon Harvey (11) and Earl Jacob; son-in-law, Lee Lewis; grandson, Richard Gordon Collins; great-grandson, Andrew Jackson Carter; great-great-infant grandson; and five siblings.
