Funeral Mass for Agnes Gilroy, 84 of Edina, MN, formerly of Dickinson, ND will be 10:00 a. m. (CST) Wednesday, July 6, 2005 at Spirit of Life Catholic Church in Mandan. Burial will follow in the North Dakota Veteran?s Cemetery in Mandan. Visitation will be Tuesday, July 5, 2005 from 9:00 a. m. to 9:00 p. m. with a Rosary and Vigil Service at 7:00 p. m. at Stevenson-Mischel-Olson Chapel in Dickinson. Agnes passed away on June 28, 2005 at English Rose Suites, Assisted Living in Edina, MN. Agnes was born September 6, 1921 in Washburn, ND, the daughter of John and Frances (Macek) Holkup. She moved to Bismarck and attended St. Mary?s Grade School and High School. She worked for the Health Department in Bismarck. On November 23, 1957 Agnes married Harold Gilroy. They lived in Valley City, ND for 3 years and then moved to Dickinson in 1961. Agnes was an active member of the St. Wenceslaus Mission Group and St. Anne?s Altar Society. For several years she was also part of the Trinity Mardi Gras Planning committee. She moved to the Minneapolis area in 1998. She loved to read and cook great meals for her family and bake breads and desserts for her friends and family. She enjoyed taking care of her children and working for the Catholic Church and schools. She was a loving wife, mother and friend and will be dearly missed by many. Survivors include two daughters: Kathleen (Danny) Dyson of Austin, TX and Mary Gilroy of Minneapolis, MN; a brother: John (Lillian) Holkup of Miles City, MT; and a sister: Frances Holkup of Santa Clara, CA. She was preceded in death by her husband Harold Gilroy, brother Charles Holkup, and sister Anne Campbell.
