She was raised on the family farm near Center and attended country school. She lived in various care centers in the Mandan and Bismarck area before moving to her home at St. Benedict?s Health Center in Dickinson in July of 1972. Agnes enjoyed reading the newspaper, watching the birds eat from her bird feeder outside her bedroom window, watching the squirrel?s that she nicknamed ?bushy?, all of the activities at St. Benedict?s health Center, especially bingo and socializing with the residents and staff at the center. Agnes will forever be remembered for her smile outlined by her red, rosy cheeks that would brighten up the room she was in. She never complained about anything and made people realize there was more in life than material possessions. Agnes is survived by two brothers and three sisters-in-law, John and Lorraine Landeis, Tom and Loretta Landeis, Regina Landeis; one brother-in-law and his wife, Ralph and Louise Hatzenbihler, all of Mandan; 11 nieces; four nephews; and her family at the St. Benedict?s Health Center. She was preceded in death by her parents, Louie and Elizabeth (Thomas) Landeis; sister, Margaret Hatzenbihler and brother, Jack Landeis. Honorary pallbearers will be the staff of St. Benedict?s Health Center who knew as her family. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials to St. Benedict?s Funds. Agnes was our sister, aunt, great-aunt and friend. We love her, we will miss her, and we will remember her forever.
