Funeral Mass for Agnes Papka, 75, of Dickinson will be 10:00 a. m. , Wednesday, June 19, 2013 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Dickinson with Father Todd Kreitinger celebrating. Burial will follow in St. Wenceslaus Cemetery.
Visitation for Agnes will be 2:00 p. m. to 8:00 p. m. Tuesday, June 18, 2013 at Stevenson Funeral Home in Dickinson with a Rosary and Vigil service being held at 7:00 p. m.
Agnes passed away Monday, June 17, 2013 at her home in Dickinson.
Agnes Vernette Sivak was born January 10, 1938 in Snow, ND, the daughter of Paul H. and Polly (Gawryluk) Sivak. She grew up and attended country school, later graduating from Belfield High School. At the age of 8, Agnes lost her father and as a young woman, she helped raise her siblings and helped her mother with the chores. Agnes began working at the Dickinson Nursing Home and later St. Benedict’s Health Center for over 20 years. She worked in various departments throughout her years of service. Agnes retired and continued to make Dickinson her home. She went to work part-time, enjoying the Ukrainian Culture Center and making pyrohy/ cheese buttons. Agnes was a very responsible lady, caring and always giving to anybody in need. She took charge in getting everyone together and planning the food for the event, always making sure no one was left out. She went above and beyond caring for her nephew and nieces and spent many hours with them. Agnes was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church and her faith and religion were a very important part of her life. Agnes enjoyed traveling with her sisters, seeing relatives around the country. Most recently, she traveled to Orlando to visit the Holy Land experience.
Agnes is survived by her sister, Virginia (Bob) Holland of Dickinson; brothers, Steve, Paul and Charlie Sivak of Dickinson and Emil Sivak of Orlando, FL; numerous nieces and nephews; and special aunt, Josie Klym of Dickinson.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Jan Kadrmas and Marilyn Reisenauer; and nephew, Craig Kadrmas.
