A Funeral Mass for Agnes Schaaf, 86, of Glen Ullin will be 10:30 a. m. CDT, Monday, April 8, 2013 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Jeff Zwack celebrating. Burial will be in the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Glen Ullin.
Visitation will be Sunday, April 7th from 3 – 6:00 p. m. CDT in the Sacred Heart Side Chapel with a Rosary and Vigil Service being held at 4:30 p. m. CDT in the Sacred Heart Church. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the funeral mass on Monday.
Agnes passed away Tuesday, April 2, 2013 at the Marian Manor in Glen Ullin, ND.
Agnes was born on the farm in Grant County, on September 15, 1926, the daughter of Paul and Rose (Hertz) Fitterer. She grew up and attended country school in Grant County. As a young woman, she loved being by her father’s side, helping him with all of the farm duties. On November 18, 1946, Agnes was united in marriage to Joseph Schaaf in Glen Ullin, ND. To this union, Judy, Julie, Janet, Joe and Annette were born. Together they raised their family in Glen Ullin. Agnes enjoyed gardening, embroidery, crossword puzzles and listening and dancing to old time music. She always loved cooking and baking for family and friends. Agnes had a wonderful sense of humor, always bringing a smile to everyone’s face. Agnes had also enjoyed working at the Marian Manor cafeteria helping others. Agnes was a member of Sacred Heart Parish and an honorary member of the Christian Mothers.
Agnes is survived by her daughters, Judy (Harry) Schmidt of Bismarck, Julie (Rick) Moszer of Bismarck, Janet (Bob) Tibor of Hebron and Annette (Glenn) Nagel of Rosemont, MN; son, Joe (Jane) Schaaf of Hebron; 12 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren; brother, Jerry (Sally) Fitterer of WA; and sister, Lorraine (Paul) Steckler of Wilton, ND. She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Rose Fitterer; husband, Joseph; and sister, Germaine Lewis, and one great-grandson, Christian Dakken.
