A Funeral Mass for Albert Lantz, 87, of Dickinson, will be 9:30 a.m., Monday, April 23, 2018 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Dickinson with Father Keith Streifel and Deacon Roger Heidt con-celebrating. Military Rites will be presented by the Dickinson American Legion Post #3 Honor Guard. Interment will take place in the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery in Mandan, ND.
Visitation for Albert will be from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Sunday, April, 22, 2018 at Stevenson Funeral Home with a Rosary and Vigil service being held at 4:00 p.m.
Albert passed away Tuesday, April 17, 2018 at CHI St. Alexius, Dickinson.
Albert Lantz was born July 6, 1930 in Burt, ND, the son of Ralph and Regina (Reisenauer) Lantz. He grew up and attended St. Joseph’s School and Dickinson High School. Albert worked for Nash Finch Grocery for a few years before he joined the National Guard in November of 1950 in Dickinson. He was honorably discharged in March 1958 as a Master Sergeant. Albert was united in marriage to Pauline Schulz on May 21, 1951 in Richardton. The couple lived in Ozark, Alabama for a short time, after which they returned to North Dakota and made their lifelong home in Dickinson. To this union, Wayne, Keith and Tim were born. In 1956, Albert began working for Northern Pacific Railroad as a brakeman, retiring after 38 years. He enjoyed woodworking, fishing and camping.
Albert was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church where he served as an usher for many years. Albert was a lifelong member of the Knights of Columbus Honorary Membership Council #6308. He also served on the board of the American Legion.
Albert is survived by his wife, Pauline; three sons, Wayne (Deborah) Lantz, Keith (Nancy) Lantz, and Tim (Cheryl) Lantz, all of Dickinson; eight grandchildren, Brian (Alisha) Lantz, Jeremy (Mandie) Lantz, Rebekah Lantz, Joel Lantz, Brittany (Kyle) Wentz, Christina (Jimmy) Jorgensen, Rachel Lantz, and Chelsey Lantz; nine great-grandchildren, Hayden, Layla, Colton, Riley, Marlee, Emma, Maci, Jenna, and Grace; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Albert is preceded in death by his parents; two infant brothers; two brothers, Sebastian and Joe Lantz; and one sister, Mary Berger.
