Funeral services for Albert Lutz, 89, of New England, ND will be 2 p. m. , Thursday, July 31, 2008 at Our Redeemer?s Lutheran Church, New England, ND with Pastor Bruce Peterson officiating. Burial will follow in the New England Cemetery. Visitation will be 9 a. m. to 3 p. m. , Wednesday, July 30, 2008 at Stevenson Funeral Home, Dickinson with a prayer service at 5 p. m. at Our Redeemer?s Lutheran Church, New England, ND. Visitation will continue 9 a. m. to 1 p. m. , Thursday, July 31, 2008 at the church. Albert passed away July 28, 2008 at St. Benedict Health Center, Dickinson, NDAlbert Lutz was born September 8, 1918 at the family home in Elgin, ND to Jacob and Magdalena (Stevahm) Lutz. When he was six years old, along with his parents and brothers, he moved to the Teppe Butte area, southwest of Regent, ND. They traveled with a team of horses and a wagon to the farmstead, where he grew up and continued to live there until he moved to New England in 1959. Albert attended a rural school in Teppe Township and continued to farm with his Dad. He married Olive Child at Baker, Montana in 1946. He was a member of rural Peace Lutheran Church and held several offices. He served on the township board as well as the school board. Albert later became a member of Our Redeemers Lutheran Church in New England, where he was on the church council. Even though Albert moved to New England, he took an active interest in farming, until the time of his death. Farming was his life. Albert enjoyed hunting of all kinds, also traveling; he and Olive took many bus tours throughout the United States. Albert never really retired from farming; his heart was still in it. He was very proud of his grandchildren. Albert is survived by: wife, Olive; sons, Roger Lutz, New England, ND; Richard (Connie) Lutz, Regent, ND; daughter, Shirley( Ornell) Erickson, Moorhead, MN; grandchildren, Tana & Tim Bock, Trevor & Aimee Lutz, Hollie Nelson, Denise & Daryl Sip, Cheryl & Tim Giffey; step grandchildren, Teresa and Mike Urlacher, Sarah Schmidt and Allison Becktesh; great grandchildren, Elyse & Collin Bock, Gracie Nelson, Karagin Lutz, Triston, Bailey, Leah and Carley Sip, Timothy and Isabelle Binder, Piper Giffey; brother, Marvin (Stella) Lutz, Rapid City, SD ; Sister, Irene (Clarence) Monke, New England, ND; sister in law, Hazel Lutz, Dickinson, NDHe was preceded in death: his parents; two brothers; William and Ralph Lutz; one infant sister, Ruth Lutz. Memorials may be made to New England Ambulance or a charity of your choice.
