Albert Mischel, 85, Dickinson passed away August 22, 2003 at St. Joseph?s Hospital, Dickinson. He was born January 23, 1918 at Dickinson, the son of John and Rose (Krank) Mischel. He grew up and attended a country school northeast of Dickinson. After his father?s death, Albert stayed and helped on the family farm. On January 21, 1942, he was married to Magdalen, ?Maggie? Reis at St. Mary?s Catholic Church in Bismarck, ND. They farmed north of Gladstone before moving to Bismarck. In 1965 they moved to Los Angeles where Albert worked as a maintenance foreman for many years and they managed apartment buildings. Albert and Maggie returned to Dickinson in 1990 where they retired and made their home. Albert enjoyed playing musical instruments. In his early years, he played for many Saturday night dances. He was a gifted repairman and could fix anything mechanically. Albert loved his family and getting together with his grandchildren. He enjoyed his daily coffee social wherever he was. Survivors include three sons: Don (Vicki) Mischel of Santa Maria, CA, Duane Mischel of Bismarck, ND and Bob (Beth) Mischel of Thornton, CO; three sisters: Rose (Lowell) Schiltz, Dickinson, Barbara (Arnold) Rummel, Dickinson and Escher Wendorf of Bemidji, MN; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. His wife; a daughter, Linda Mischel; three brothers: Benjamin, Edward and Florian; and two sisters, Tillie Sickler and Regina Sickler preceded him in death.
