Privratsky was born on October 31, 1919, to Adolph and Mary (Splichal) Privratsky on the family farm seven miles southwest of South Heart. He joined the CCC?s in 1937. On November 21, 1939, he married Ann Binstock at St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in New Hradec, ND. They began farming and ranching on the family homestead. After a successful farming career, Albert retired in 1980. His love of farming continued in helping his sons during the spring planting season and hauling grain during harvest. Albert loved the beauty of the landscape surrounding his farm, so in 1982 Albert and Ann built their new home facing the direction of the Little Badlands. From the living room windows, he could always see that setting. Albert was young at heart and enjoyed spending time with his family. He was always willing to accompany his children on various trips and outings, even trying snow skiing at the age of 66. Albert and Ann often enjoyed taking short overnight trips to wherever their hearts would lead them. His children and grandchildren will always remember the softball games played on Father?s Day. He taught himself to play the guitar as a young man and his love of music continued throughout his life. It was not unusual to find him dancing or listening to music. Albert also had a passion for collecting cars. He looked forward to the tractor pulls held during the Roughrider Days participating with his own four wheel drive tractors. Albert was a member of St. Mary?s Catholic Church, the Fraternal Order of Eagles and Knights of Columbus.
