Alberta Hartwell

A Funeral service for Alberta Ellen Hartwell, 45, of Dickinson will be 3:00 p.m., Saturday, December 15, 2012 at Jehovah’s Witnesses Kingdom Hall in Dickinson with Jerry Badger officiating. A reception will follow at the Community Building in Gladstone. Cremation has taken place and a Graveside service will be held at 1:00 p. m., Friday, December 14, 2012 at Morristown, SD.


Alberta passed away on Thursday, December 6, 2012, at St. Alexius Medical Center in Bismarck, ND.


Alberta”Bert” Hartwell was born on June 11, 1967, in McLaughlin, SD a daughter of Art and Betty (Harwood) Hartwell. She grew up and attended schools in McIntosh, SD. Following school, Bert lived in various places throughout South Dakota and eventually moved to Dickinson in the late 1990’s. Bert was a very caring person who loved children and pets. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting and photography. Her greatest love in life was for her family and friends.


Bert is survived by her parents, Art and Betty Hartwell of Hebron, ND; two sisters, Janell Hartwell of Dickinson, ND and Brenda Hartwell of Hebron, ND; and brother, James Hartwell of Belle Fourche, SD.


She was preceded in death by her brothers, Arthur Roy Hartwell, Jr. , and Dick Hartwell and her maternal and paternal grandparents.
