Alfred Elder

Alfred Elder, age 73, of Hebron, died Thursday, August 24, 2006 at Medcenter One in Bismarck. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 PM CDT at the St. John Church in Hebron with the Rev. Martin Nussbaum, officiating. Visitation will be held on Monday from 4-9 PM at the Spangelo Funeral Home in Hebron with a prayer service at 7:00 PM CDT. Visitation will continue one hour prior to services at the church. Burial will be in the St. John Cemetery in Hebron. Alfred was born December 13, 1932 on the family homestead north of Hebron. He was raised on the farm and educated in a country school, Elder #13. He worked for several farmers in the area until 1958 when he started at Hebron Brick Co. Alfred married Alma Fischer on December 22, 1958 at St. John in Hebron. He retired from Hebron Brick Co. in 1998. In his retirement years Alfred enjoyed gardening and visiting with friends. Alfred leaves his wife: Alma, Hebron; his daughter Myra Elder, Hebron; and his son Mark and his wife Ann, Bismarck. Two grandchildren: Sarah and Matthew Elder, Bismarck. He also leaves two brothers: Clarence (Sylvia) and Gary (Paulette), all of Hebron and two sisters: Isabel (Richard) Rebel, Hebron and Arlene (Vernon) Stading, of Minot, ND. He was preceded in death by his parents.
