A Graveside service for Alice Fisher, 102, formerly of Dickinson, will be 4:00 p.m., Friday, October 18, 2013 at St. Wenceslaus Cemetery with Pastor Cal Oraw officiating. Cremation has taken place.
Alice passed away peacefully on September 11, 2013 in Washington State and is now with her Lord in heaven.
Alice was born in LaMoure County, North Dakota on September 8, 1911, the daughter of Matt and Martha Sandness. She grew up on the family farm, graduating from LaMoure High School and attended Jamestown College and Valley City College. Alice became a teacher and taught in rural schools and at Dickinson High School. In 1947, she married Eddie Fisher and the couple moved to the Fisher family farm north of Dickinson. In 1998, she moved to Marysville, Washington. Alice was wonderfully kind, thankful and humble women of God, who was loved by all who came to know her. She had a great sense of humor and expressed her love through words and generosity.
Alice is survived by her granddaughter, Robin Fettig, great-granddaughter, Elaine, and great-grandson, Connor Fettig. She will be especially missed by her extended family members, her nephew, Carrol and Sandy Lane, Carolyn and John Idhe, and Jeanette and Loren Carlander.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Eddie Fisher, her daughter, Elaine Meduna, and sister, Josephine Lane.
