Funeral services for Alice Kempf, 81, of Dickinson, ND will be 11 a. m. , Saturday, December 20, 2008 at Our Saviour?s Lutheran Church, Dickinson with Pastor Noel Vold officiating. Burial will be at a later date in the Killdeer Cemetery. Visitation will be 9 a. m. to 9 p. m. Friday, December 19, 2008 at Stevenson Funeral Home, Dickinson with a prayer service at 7 p. m. Visitation will continue on Saturday one hour prior to the service at Our Saviour?s Lutheran Church. Alice passed away Monday, December 15, 2008 at her home in Dickinson. Alice Marie Kind was born July 7, 1927 to John and Frederika (Messmer) Kind in Halliday, ND. She grew up and attended rural country school in the area and later graduated from Killdeer High School. Alice moved to Dickinson were she began working for the St. Charles Hotel and later went to work at Kings. She met and married William Kempf on July 14, 1949 in Dunn Center, ND. She worked at the elevator there in Dunn Center. Alice began working for the ASCS Office later becoming the office manager which she held for many years. After Alice retired, she then moved to Dickinson, where she has made her home ever since. She loved her dogs and pampered them throughout her life. Sadie was her last precious companion. Alice enjoyed knitting, quilting and especially watching her T. V. soap operas. She was a member of St. Joseph Auxiliary, belonged to two different bible study groups, member of Our Saviour?s Lutheran Church, the ladies quilting group and Our Saviour?s Lutheran Church Women?s Ministry. Alice was especially fond of her many nieces and nephews. She is survived by her sister; Emma Mittelstedt Weisenberger, Dickinson, ND and many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews. Alice is preceded in death by her parents; husband, William; brother, Tobias; sisters, Minnie Meske, Henrietta Trusskey, Louise Kittilson, Amelia Wierson, Lena Selle and Laura Wierson.
