Alice Pothier

Funeral Services for Alice Pothier, 94, of Richardton, will be 11:00 a.m. CST, Saturday, February 18, 2017 at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Hebron.  Burial will take place in the church cemetery.


Visitation for Alice will be 9:00 a.m. CST to 11:00 a.m. CST on Saturday morning prior to the service with a rosary being led at 10:00 am CST.


Alice passed away Saturday, February 11, 2017 at the Richardton Health Center, Richardton, ND.


Alice Frances was born March 10, 1922 in Dunn County, the daughter of Joseph P. and Christina (Mayer) Link.  She grew up on the family farm, graduating from Halliday High School in 1940.  Following graduation she worked at the tuberculosis sanitarium at San Haven, ND.  This is where she met her future husband Ernest on a blind date.  On December 18, 1941, Alice married Ernest Pothier in Dunseith, ND.  The couple was blessed with five children, Sheila, David, Margaret, Susan and Peter.  Alice worked as a dental assistant for Dr. Leutz for nearly 30 years.  She enjoyed selling Avon for many years where many friendships and much visiting was done through her home business.  Alice lived in Hebron most of her life.  She became a resident of Richardton Health Center after her stroke in 2008.  She was a member of St. Ann’s Catholic Mothers, the American Legion Auxiliary, and a member of the Hebron Park Board where she was actively responsible for the Hebron swimming pool being built.  Alice will be dearly missed.


Alice is survived by her daughters, Margaret “Peggy” (Wayne) Glemming of Tucson, AZ, Susan (Paul) Larsen of Taylor, ND; son, David (Linda Norwood) of Daytona Beach Shores, FL; eight grandchildren, Christine (Brian) Frost, Stephanie (Skye) Johnson, Shannon (Lowell) Malard, Justin (Marnie) Larsen, Candace (Jason) Lewis, Christopher (Sarah) Nelson, Brad (Lauren) Pothier, Kristen Pothier (Jen); 15 great-grandchildren; in-laws, Irene Link, Inez Link, Jenny Root and Francis Pothier.


She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Christina Link; husband, Ernest (1994); infant daughter, Sheila; son, Peter Pothier; brothers, Joe, Peter, John, Bill, Albert Link.
