Funeral Services for AJ Buck, 32, of Ekalaka, Montana will be 10:00 a. m. , Sunday, May 3, 2015 at the Carter County High School Gymnasium in Ekalaka. Burial will be held at 2:00 p. m. in the Little Missouri Lutheran Cemetery in Capital, Montana. AJ passed away on Tuesday, April 28, 2015 at his home in Great Falls, Montana. Allan J Buck II was born May 4, 1982 in Belle Fourche, SD the son of Allan J. and Terri (Talkington) Buck. He grew up and attended school in Albion; later transferring to school in Columbus, Nebraska, and then graduating from Carter County High School in 2000 in Ekalaka, MT. After graduation, AJ enlisted into the United States Army and completed his basic training at Ft. Reilly, Kansas. He went on to advanced infantry training in Ft. Knox, Kentucky. In 2001, AJ was deployed to Afghanistan as a Sgt. with the HHC 1/16 Infantry Battalion in the Big Red One Iron Rangers. In 2003, he was transferred to Ft. Wainwright, Alaska as a Team Leader in the 2nd Platoon in Charlie Company 4-14 Calvary, 172 Striker Brigade Combat Team. After this time, AJ was deployed two more times to Iraq. AJ was honorably discharged on June 21, 2007. AJ made his home in Miles City, and most recently in Great Falls, MT. AJ enjoyed playing pool, poker and video games with his son, Allan J Buck III. He also enjoyed cooking for his family and friends. AJ was very competitive in anything he did. He was very close to this Calvary Scout Brothers; of which he made many friends. AJ was a member of the V. F. W in Miles City. He moved to Great Falls in the fall of 2014 and worked with his sister and brother-in-law as a sign installer. The last several months, the old AJ came back and started to enjoy the outdoors and planning some fall hunts. AJ’s family was the most important thing in his life. AJ is survived by Samantha McGowan and their son, Allan J Buck III of Miles City, MT; daughter, Athena S. Buck of Pittsburg, KS; parents, Allan J and Terri Buck of Ekalaka, MT; brothers, Colin Buck of Ekalaka, MT, and John Sulkosky (fiancé, Melissa Smith); sister, Raean (Beau) Bilbrey of Great Falls, MT; nephews, Shandon, Brandon and Dillon; nieces, Jayni, Hallie, and Alexis; and grandparents, Barb and Ruby Wintermute of Ekalaka, MT.
