Allen Paul Osmundson was born June 24, 1936 in Breckenridge, MN. He was born to Art & Palma Osmundson of Dwight, ND.
He graduated from Wahpeton High School & then went to the North Dakota State College of Science. He served in the military. Allen was in the Army National Guard for 2 years and then US Army for 3 years. While in the Army he drove truck until he received his Sharpshooter medal. He was then employed as a shooting instructor. From there he became Military Police and was stationed in Honolulu, HI. While in Hawaii, he met Patricia Maile Sylva. He received an honorable discharge and came home to ND where they were married on October 31, 1958 in Dwight, ND. Their son, Curtis, was born September 7, 1959.
For several years, Al had his own apiary, where he produced honey & other bee products. He lived in North Dakota for many years and was known as “the bee man.” He also lived in South Dakota, Minnesota, Louisiana, and Texas. During these years he drove truck for other beekeepers. Later in life he lived in Fergus Falls, MN, where he could be closer to his son Curtis & his wife Milly, & his granddaughter, Ellie.
One thing Al may be remembered for is that he didn’t know a stranger. He was friendly & liked to visit with everyone. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing. He liked to watch the Minnesota Twins baseball or boxing on tv.
He is preceded in death by his parents, a special aunt, Olga Paulson, his brother, Lyle Osmundson, & his nephew Corey.
