Allen Temanson

Allen R. Temanson, 86, Killdeer, died Friday, July 22, 2005, at St. Joseph?s Hospital and Health Center, Dickinson. Funeral services are 2 p. m. , Tuesday, July 26, 2005 at St. John?s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Killdeer, with Rev. Aanen Gjovik officiating. Interment will be 11 a. m. (mt) Wednesday in the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan. Visitation will be noon to 9 p. m. , Monday, July 25, 2005 at Price-Murphy Funeral Home, Dickinson. Visitation will continue Tuesday at the church one hour prior to the service. Allen R. Temanson was born October 14, 1918, in Omemee, North Dakota the 6th of 7 children of Gilbert K. and Ragna (Lee) Temanson. The family moved to St. Joe, ND then to Underwood, N. D where Allen attended both grade and High School. In 1941, he entered the U. S. Navy serving in the south Pacific. After 51 months of service he was honorably discharged in the spring of 1946. Allen enrolled at North Dakota Agricultural College in the fall of 1946 and graduated in 1950, with a triple major of Agronomy, Biology and Wildlife Management. Allen then enrolled in Concordia College from 1950 to 1951. After graduation, he was employed with the Farmers Home Administration and the Soil Conservation Service until retirement in 1981. On October 10, 1953, he married Adeline Jasmer in Eagle Bend, Minn. Allen worked at Stanley, Crosby, New Salem and finally Killdeer in 1958. Allen spent 23 years of his 33-year career in Dunn County. He enjoyed gardening, yard work, reading especially poetry, water witching, walking and collection artifacts like arrowheads, fleshing tools and hammers. He is survived by: his wife, Adeline ?Lin?, Killdeer; two daughters, Diane Temanson, Dickinson and Kaye Temanson, Fargo; one son, Paul (Marjorie) Temanson, Minot; two granddaughters, Mya and Lily Temanson; sisters in law, Dorothy Temanson, St. Paul Minn. and Lorraine ?Wessie? Temanson, Mesa, Ariz. and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by: his parents Gilbert and Ragna; three brothers, Erland, Milton and Stanley; three sisters, Alvina Luyben, Gertrude Torske and Bernice Temanson. In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to the Anne Carlsen Center for Children, 301 7th Ave. NW, Jamestown, ND 58401 or St. John?s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 550 Central Ave. N. , Killdeer, ND 58640.
