Alvina Allerdings

Alvina Fischer Allerdings, 91, of Baker, passed away Sunday, April 27, 2003 at the Fallon Medical Complex. She was born July 29, 1911 at Hazelton, ND, to Christoph and Sophie Fischer. She grew up on the family farm and attended school in Hazelton. Alvina was married to Gus Allerdings, Sept 26, 1947 at Linton, ND. They purchased Gus?s family farm 13 miles S. E. of Plevna. They continued to farm and ranch the home place until Gus?s death in 1976. Both Alvina and Gus were active in the Plevna Baptist Church throughout much of their lives. She continued living on the farm until February of 1993, when she had a stroke and was taken to Bismarck ND, and was in a nursing home until May of 1994. She then moved to the nursing home in Baker until her death. She thought the nursing staff was great in Baker. Alvina also had to make sure the chairs in the dining room were lined up before each meal and after–also for Sunday afternoon church services. While she was on the ranch, Alvina loved the animals, especially the big tom cats. She also enjoyed tinkering in her garden. Those who knew Alvina will always remember her love for peanut M&Ms. Those preceeding her in death were her parents; her husband, Gus; two brothers, Fred and August; two sisters, Amelia and Bertha; and a set of twins. She is survived by a sister, Melita Renschler of Bismarck, ND; six nieces from the Fischer family side: Irene (Manuel) Santos of Heyburn, ID, Linda (Ron) Farron of Burley, ID, Alice Ibling of Billings, Arlene (Lynn) Simmons of Townsend, MT, Shirley (Frank) Vannoy of Greenough, MT, and Kathy Hart of Cathedral, CA; and 4 nephews: Reinhold (Judy) Fischer of Hermiston, OR, Harold Fischer of Pinehurst, ID, Larry Renschler of Minneapolis, MN, and Melvin (Marjean) Allerdings of Spokane, WA. Funeral Services will take place on Friday, May 2, 2003 at 2 PM at the Plevna Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the Plevna Community Cemetery. Refreshments will be served back at the church after the graveside services. Visitation hours will begin Thursday, May 1, from 8 AM until 8 PM.
