Amanda Helen Sayler Oss, age 90, of Taylor, ND, died Saturday, April 2, 2005 at the Sheyenne Care Center in Valley City. Memorial services are 1:30 p. m. , April 9, 2005 at Taylor Lutheran Church, Taylor. Amanda Helen Sayler, the daughter of Johannes and Kathrina (Schmidt) Sayler was born on the family farm near Underwood, ND. Amanda?s parents migrated to the Underwood, ND area in 1902 and were one of the original founders of Underwood, ND. Amanda grew up and attended rural school in the Underwood, ND area. On February 27, 1934 she married Clarence Oss at the Underwood First Congregational Church. The couple then moved and farmed north of Taylor, ND for many years where Amanda was very active with the Ridgeway Lutheran Church. She served as president of the Ridgeway Ladies Aid, taught Sunday School and Vacation Bible School for many years. Amanda later became a member of the Taylor Lutheran Church where she would sing in the church choir and did quilting that was given to many missions. Amanda loved to embroider, did volunteer work with the Taylor VIP Program, enjoyed playing cards, gardening, canning, making lefse, and was also active with the Taylor Senior Citizens Program. She also looked forward to the Taylor Horse Fest which was held the last weekend of July every year. Amanda is survived by one daughter, Mae Oss, Valley City, ND; grandchildren, Scott Boutin, Taylor, ND, Todd Boutin, Victoria, TX and Simone (Gary) Boutin-Atwood, Buda, TX; great-grandchildren, Detishia Boutin, Jacque Amanda Boutin, Shawn Boutin and Christopher Boutin, All Victoria, TX, Dianna Boutin and Sarah Boutin, both Benson, AZ, Haven Atwood and Haleigh Atwood, both, Buda, TX; 4 Great-great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Esther Sayler and Neela Sayler; her very special friend, Harvey Boutain, Menagha, MN and nieces nephews and great nieces and great nephews. Amanda was preceded in death by her parents, husband of 52 years, Clarence, six brothers; Salmon Sayler, George Sayler, John Sayler, Henry Sayler, August Sayler and Arthur Sayler; three sisters, Lydia Schaefer, Alma Aamoth and Kathryn Blindt.
