Funeral Mass for Amos Andres, 84, of Dickinson will be 1:00 p. m. Thursday, April 15, 2010, at St. Joseph?s Catholic Church in Dickinson. Visitation will be 12:00 p. m. to 9:00 p. m. Wednesday, April 14, 2010, at Stevenson Funeral Home in Dickinson with a Rosary and Vigil Service at 7:00 p. m. Visitation will continue from 9:00 a. m. to 12:00 p. m. on Thursday, April 15, 2010, at Stevenson Funeral Home. Amos passed away Friday, April 9, 2010, at St. Benedict?s Health Center in Dickinson. Aquilinus ?Amos? Andres was born on July 6, 1925 to John Sr. and Susanna (Maier) Andres in Stark County. Amos grew up in the Dickinson area and attended St. Pius elementary school. After graduating high school, he enlisted into the United States Navy for seven years. Amos served in World War II for three years, and Korea for fourteen months before his honorable discharge and return to Dickinson. Upon his return, Amos began working at De Foe?s Garage. He later worked at Mann?s Automotive Parts and a limo driver until his retirement. During his free time with retirement, Amos became very involved with the Dickinson Baseball Club and following the DSU volleyball team. He loved hunting and fishing, he also enjoyed watching sports on TV as well his coffee group at Hardee?s. He is survived by his two nephews: Jerry (Karen) Andres, Washington, and Roger Andres, Dickinson; a niece, Lollie (Tim Fitterer) Gabel, Dickinson; his great-nieces and nephews, Kim Walter, Mike Andres, Missy Schumacher, Wes Andres, and Lynn Andres; and great-great nieces and nephews, Shelby, Katelynn, Brady, Alexis, Alandra, Jayson, Johnny, Brooke, and Jackson. Amos is preceded in death by his parents: John Sr. and Susanna; a brother, John Jr. ; and a sister-in-law, Marie (Flink) Andres.
