A funeral service for Amy Janelle Lutts Zinda (Skartved), 45, of Billings, formerly of Baker, will be 10:00 a. m. , Tuesday, December 1, 2015 at Stevenson Funeral Home in Baker, MT with Pastor Levi Durfey officiating. Family Receiving Friend’s for Amy will be from 5:00 p. m. to 7:00 p. m. on Monday, November 30, 2015 at Stevenson Funeral Home in Baker, MT. Amy passed away Friday, November 20, 2015 in Billings, MT, following a series of strokes. Amy Janelle Lutts Zinda (Skartved) was born on October 24, 1970, to Robert R. and Jean G. (Morton) Lutts in Miles City, MT. Amy attended schools in Baker, MT, and was a 10-year member of the Country Pals 4-H Club, taking horse, market beef and cooking projects. Growing up she loved horses and going with her dad to gather and work cattle. Amy attended Dawson Community College for two years, and was married to Russell Zinda on November 23, 1991 in Glendive, MT. Amy and Russ moved to Nevada, where she worked in appliance and grocery stores. Amy later moved to Sioux Falls, SD, where she worked at Quick Stop stores. She then met Wade Skartved and they had a son, Chance Collin, in 2005. Amy, Wade and Chance moved to Lockwood, MT, where she remained until the time of her death. Amy and Wade were married on May 20, 2015, in Billings, MT. She worked as a para-educator at the Lockwood School, and had recently bought a horse, which she boarded and worked with at a stable in Lockwood. Amy was a giver, always looking for something nice to get for everyone’s birthday and Christmas presents. She would always show up with large gift bags for everyone when the family would get together for Christmas. She was loyal to her friends and family, and was a fierce mother to her son Chance. She spent many days at Chance’s school finding out the best ways to help him grow and learn. Amy is survived by her ten-year-old son, Chance and husband Wade Skartved of Lockwood, MT; mother Jean Lutts of Baker, MT; brothers, Roy (Erin) Lutts of Baker, MT and Ken (Sonya) Lutts of Spanaway, WA; sister, Mary Waggoner of Billings, MT; nieces, Ashlyn and Keara Lutts and Kenya Lutts; nephews, Riley Lutts, Brandon and Tyler Waggoner, and Shawn Skartved; brother-in-law, Loren (Debbie) Skartved of Shelby, MT; three step-sisters-in-law, Tina Talbert, Sheri (Reese) Gallager Carry, and Johnlyn (Wes) Broeder; and father-in-law, Harold Skartved of Glendive, MT. She is preceded in death by her father, Robert Lutts in 2009; her grandparents; aunt Joyce Cook; mother-in-law Elona (Unruh) Skartved; and sister-in-law Lisa Skartved. In lieu of flowers, the family asked that you consider a monetary contribution to Amy’s son, Chance.
