Mass of Christian Burial for Andrew H. Haverlock, 83, of Dickinson is Saturday, June 7, 2003, 10:00 a. m. at St. Wenceslaus Church with Father Jim Braaten, celebrating. Interment will follow at St. John?s Ukrainian Catholic Cemetery in Belfield. William C. Blair Post #144 will provide military rites. Visitation is Thursday from 9:00 a. m. to 5:00 p. m. and Friday from 9:00 a. m. to 9:00 p. m. at Stevenson-Mischel-Olson Chapel with a rosary at 7:30 p. m. followed by a vigil led by Deacon Gene Morman. Andrew passed away after a long illness on June 2, 2003 at St. Joseph?s Hospital and Health Center. Andrew was born October 30, 1919, in rural Zenith, ND to Joseph and Alice (Pawluk) Haverlock. He attended school in Zenith consolidated schools and was awarded an Honorary Diploma in 2002 from the Governor. In March of 1942, Andrew enlisted in the United States Army serving until October of 1945. After Andrew?s military service he worked for H. R. Talkington Livestock of Belfield, until September of 1946. He than began work at Montgomery Ward and Company in Dickinson. In March of 1953, Andrew and family moved to Aberdeen, SD, while residing there he worked for Dakota Electric Supply and GoodYear Tire and Rubber Company. Andrew and family in May of 1957 moved to Minot and remained working for GoodYear Tire and Rubber Company until 1960 at which time he began to work for Mann?s Automotive Supply. In August of 1979, the family moved back to Dickinson and he continued to work at Mann?s Automotive Supply until retirement. He enjoyed reading, visiting and playing cards with his many friends. He enjoyed the company of his special friend, Martina Bleth. Andrew was a member of Junior Chamber of Commerce of Dickinson, President of Holy Names Society, Our Lady of Grace, Minot, along with Chairman of Ushers?, Our Lady of Grace, Minot. Andrew was also a member of the Moose Lodge, Elks, Knights of Columbus, American Legion, Eagles and Lions. He will be greatly missed by his children, Laureen Evans of Dickinson, Connie Brammer of Teaneck, NJ, Andrew T. (Becky) Haverlock of Minot, Nancy (special friend, Ron Jergesen) Haverlock of Great Falls, MT, Tamara Jo (Chris) Keever of OakRidge, TN; eleven grandchildren and six great grandchildren; two sisters, Katherine Haverlock of Los Angeles, CA, Genevieve Neesley of Corona, CA, his former spouse, Josephine. His parents, four brothers, and three sisters precede him in death.
