Funeral Mass for Angie Chays, 69 of Dickinson, formerly of Killdeer will be 2:00 p. m. Wednesday, June 14, 2006 at St. Joseph?s Catholic Church, Killdeer with Father Jerry Ruelle, OSB officiating. Burial will be in the Killdeer Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday, 1:00 p. m. – 9:00 p. m. , Stevenson Mischel-Olson Chapel, Dickinson, Tuesday, 9:00 a. m. – 9:00 p. m. , Stevenson Mischel-Olson Chapel, Killdeer. Wednesday visitation will be 9:00 a. m. – 12:00 p. m. at the chapel and one hour prior to service at St. Joseph?s Catholic Church in Killdeer. Angie passed away Saturday, June 10, 2006 at St. Alexius Medical Center in Bismarck. Angie was born on July 1, 1936 the daughter of Ed and Theresa (Heiser) Schwindt. She grew up and attended country school in Dunn County, graduating from the Killdeer High School in 1954. Angie was married to Sammy Chays in the St. Joseph?s Catholic Church in Killdeer on April 12, 1956. To this union, three children were born. Coleen, Diane and Greg. Angie worked as a secretary all of her life working for the Killdeer public schools for 17 years and later for the Natural Resources Conservation Services for 15 years. In 1999, Angie retired and has made Dickinson her home since. She enjoyed quilting, gardening, cooking, baking and volunteering her time at St. Jospeh?s Hospital. She especially loved and enjoyed her family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The coffee pot was always on and strong at her home and all were welcome to stop for a cup of coffee. Angie was a member of the Queen of Peace Catholic Church of Dickinson and past member of the St. Joseph?s Catholic Church of Killdeer. Survivors include, a son, Greg (Janel) Chays, Minot; two daughters, Coleen (Robert Turner) MacFarlane, Idaho Springs, CO and Diane Bird, Dickinson; her mother, Theresa Schwindt, Killdeer; a brother Val Schwindt, Greeley, CO; three sisters, Florine (Alex) Lazorenko, Linda (Rick) Reems and Jackie Olson all of Killdeer; seven grandchildren, Ian MacFarlane, Robert Turner, Nathan Bird (special friend, Heather Thomas), Isaiah Wunderlich, Michael Wunderlich, Zachary Chays, and Adam Chays and a great-granddaughter, Taylor Anderson.
