The Mass of Christian Burial for Ann Bernhardt, 85, Dickinson, will be 10 a. m. , Saturday, March 17, 2007 at Queen of Peace Catholic Church, Dickinson. Interment will be in St. Wenceslaus Cemetery, Dickinson. Visitation will be 9 a. m. to 9 p. m. , Friday, March 16, 2007 at Stevenson Funeral Home, Dickinson with a rosary and vigil at 7 p. m. Ann Bernhardt, 85, passed away Monday, March 12, 2007 at St. Joseph?s Hospital and Health Center, Dickinson. Ann Bernhardt was born on September 11, 1921 in Richardton to John and Lucia (Messmer) Erdle. She attended St. Mary?s School in Richardton and following her graduation she was employed at a hardware store in Richardton. In May 1943 she married Leo Bernhardt at St. Mary?s Catholic Church, Richardton. Together they moved to a farm north of Taylor and remained there until 1949 when they moved to Dickinson. As Ann raised her family, she undertook volunteer and leadership roles in many community organizations. She was employed at Designer?s Fabric Center in Dickinson for a number of years. Ann was a member of Queen of Peace Catholic Church where she was very active in prayer ministry and rosary devotions, a Life Member and past Grand Regent of Catholic Daughters, a founding charter member of St. Ann?s Study Club and a member of Good News Bible Study Group. She enjoyed playing bridge, painting in acrylics, and crocheting. Ann was also an avid reader and gardener, and an excellent seamstress. She moved to St. Benedict?s Health Center in December of 2005. Throughout her life, Ann treasured her many friends and family, often referring to them as her ?angels. ? Her deep faith and spirituality were golden threads in the fabric of her life. She is survived by: her husband, Leo; three children, Jeanne (William) Phillips, Tyler TX; Terry (MaDonna Huether) Bernhardt, Taylor; and Peggy (Jan) Vonburg, Denver, CO; eight grandchildren, Bobbi Lynn (Darin) Carney, Kerry (Tom) Johnson, Chris (Sandra) Bernhardt, Jason Bernhardt, Betsy (Matthew) Barringer, Bo Vonburg, Tory Vonburg and Jonni Rose Vonburg; eight great-grandchildren, Kyle, Kelyn & Keaton Carney; Alexandra & Sarah Johnson; Courtney & Jonathan Bernhardt; Ashlyne Barringer; one sister, Bertha Kubishta; three brothers, Joe Erdle, Otto (Gail) Erdle, Zeno (Florence) Erdle. She was preceded in death by: her parents; one grandson, Cort Vonburg; four brothers, Frank, John, Rudy, and Gerald Erdle; one sister-in-law, Elaine Schulz; and one brother-in-law, Alfred Kubishta.
