A funeral Mass for Ann Schulz, 92, of Dickinson, will be 10:00 a.m., Thursday, October 5th, 2017 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church with Father Keith Streifel celebrating. Burial will follow in St. Joseph’s cemetery.


Visitation for Ann will be 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 4th at Stevenson Funeral Home with a rosary and vigil service being held at 6:30 p.m.


Ann passed away Friday, September 29, 2017 at St. Benedicts Health Center, Dickinson.


Ann Schulz died September 29, 2017. Anastasia (Ann) (Schmidt) Schulz was born to Perpetua (Schmaltz) and Florian Schmidt on December 25, 1924 on a farm near Fayette, North Dakota. She attended Prospect School #1 for 8 years.

Ann married Peter Schulz at St. Joseph’s Church in Dickinson on January 29, 1946. On the night they were married the temperature was -32 and the furnace had gone out. Ann and Pete lived on a farm west of New England for 36 years before moving to Dickinson in the fall of 1982.


Ann lived a life of caring for family and home. She enjoyed many handcrafts and gardening. She raised 10 wonderful children and was an excellent cook.


She is survived by her husband, Pete; children, Larry (Dixie) of Fargo, Jim (Marjean) of New England, Duane (Debbie) of Richland, WA, Reyne (Dave) Fisher of Bismarck, Janel (Dan) Forney of Oregon City, OR, Donna (Dennis) Stith of Mulino, OR, Lorie (John) McAnelly of Woodland, CA, Rod (Lisa) of Sioux Falls, SD, Rita (Don) Shaw of Minot, Peggy (Arvon) Heidt of Dickinson; sister, Eleanor Jones; brother, Christ (Verena); 22 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Mary (Alphonse) Wandler, Rose (Dale) Nass, Carol Schulz, MaryAnn Chantry; brother-in-law, Adam Schulz.


She is preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Paul, Anton, Alfred, Frank, Leo and Albert Schmidt; sisters, Betty Stroh, Megdalene Schmidt, Beatrice Schmidt and Genevieve Diebel; grandchildren, Justine Shaw and Ryan Schulz.


In lieu of flowers and gifts, family requests donations be made to the St. Benedicts Nursing Home or your charity of choice.
