Funeral Mass for Anna Blasy, 95, of Dassel, MN, formerly of Richardton, will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 12, 2011 at St. Stephen’s Catholic Church, Richardton, ND with Father Boniface Muggli O. S. B. celebrating. Burial will take place at St. Stephen’s Cemetery. Visitation for Anna will be 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Sunday, December 11, 2011 at Stevenson Funeral Home in Dickinson with a Prayer and Vigil service being held at 4:00 p.m.
Anna passed away Wednesday, December 7, 2011 at Lakeside Nursing Home, Dassel, MN.
Anna Blasy was the daughter of Peter and Mary (Harle) Schmidt. She was born on August 24, 1916 on the family farm south of Richardton in the sod house. Growing up, Anna attended country school. On November 5, 1934, Anna married Frank Blasy at St. Stephen’s Catholic Church south of Richardton. They lived in the Lefor area for a few years before moving to the family farm south of Richardton. Anna was widowed in March of 1971. In 1972, she moved into Richardton and lived there until 2008. Anna moved to central Minnesota to be near her family until she passed away on December 7, 2011. Anna enjoyed playing cards, bowling, yard work, tending to her flowers, listening to country music, and shoveling snow. Anna’s grandchildren and family were so important to her. She was a member of the Christian Mothers, Richardton Senior Citizens, and Richardton St. Mary’s Catholic Church.
Anna was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Frank; one daughter, Marlene; one infant son, Dennis; three sisters; and five brothers.
She is survived by her two sons, Dwight (Virginia) and Allen (Debbi); nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers for Anna will be her four grandsons, Sean Blasy, Travis Blasy, Jared Blasy and Michael Pazen.
In lieu of flowers, the family recommends donations to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, 6931 Arlington Road, 2nd Floor, Bethesda, Maryland 20814.
