Funeral Mass for Anna Hellman, 98, of Dickinson is 10:00 a. m. Friday, December 28, 2007 at the St. Joseph?s Catholic Church with the Rev. Dennis Schafer officiating. Burial will be in the St. Joseph?s Cemetery in Dickinson. Visitation will be 1 pm to 9 pm on Thursday, December 27, 2007 at Stevenson Funeral Home followed by a Rosary and Vigil service at 7:00 p. m. Visitation will continue on Friday, from 8:00 a. m. until one hour prior to service. Anna passed away on Friday, December 21, 2007 at the St. Luke?s Home in Dickinson. Anna was born on November 10, 1909 the daughter of Joe and Celistine (Stoltz) Paul south of Glen Ullin, ND. She grew up and received her education at rural country school. Anna was married to Leo Hellman on November 12, 1929 in Glen Ullin. Together they farmed in the St. Joe area south of Glen Ullin until 1951 when they moved to Dickinson. Anna was a cook at the St. Joseph?s school for many years. She also worked at St. Luke?s and did volunteer work as well. Anna enjoyed playing bingo and getting together with her friends to play cards. She delighted in baking old time German foods and pastries for her family. Survivors include, a son, Ray (Barbara) Hellman, Ocla, FL; six daughters, Viola (Ed) Bachler, Almont, ND, Clara Hibl, Delavan, WI, Roz (Robert) Mitchell, Kenosha, WI, Geri (Jerry) Kexel, Kenosha, WI, Bernie (Tom) Oster, Dickinson, ND and Karen (Jerry) DeFranco, Kenosha, WI; a sister, Minnie Martin, Bismarck, ND and a half sister, Regina Burgard, San Diego, CA; 26 grandchildren, 46 great-grandchildren and 22 great-great-granchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Leo; 4 brothers, Joe, Jack, Frank and Ralph; four sisters, Catherine Paul, Frances Beehler, Mary Hellman and Sally Eble; 3 granddaughters and 1 great-great grandson.
