Anna passed away on Tuesday, July 20, 2004 at the Dahl Memorial Nursing Home, Ekalaka. Anna Bertha Meyer was born September 2, 1910 at Ekalaka, the daughter of Ole and Christina (Ohme) Markuson. She grew up and attended the Schofield Country School in the Beaver Flats area. Anna was married to Chester Meyer on May 17, 1928 at Ekalaka. They began ranching on the Markuson Ranch. In 1934 they took over the Beaver Flat ranch which their son, Chester still operates today. Anna moved into Ekalaka so that the children could attend school. She took in boarders, worked at the hospital and at the local caf?. She was a very good cook, enjoyed crocheting, knitting, sewing and raised a large garden. Due to failing health, she spent the last several years in the Dahl Memorial Nursing Home. Anna especially loved and enjoyed her family and grandchildren. Survivors include two sons: Coleman (Shirley) Meyer, Miles City and Chester (Rona) Meyer, Ekalaka; three daughters: Betty (Jack) McLaughlin, Helena, MT, Patsy (Ritchie) Payne of Glendale, CA and Connie (Frank) Pelican, Billings; 18 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren and 9 great-great grandchildren. Memorials may be given to Dahl Memorial Nursing Home. Remembrances and condolences can be shared with the family at stevensonfuneralhome. com
