A funeral Mass for Anna Schantz, 99, of Glen Ullin will be at 10:30 a. m. CST, Wednesday, September 21, 2016 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Glen Ullin with Father Jeff Zwack celebrating. Burial will take place in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Visitation for Anna will be from 4:30 p. m. to 6:00 p. m. CST, Tuesday, September 20 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with a rosary and vigil service being held at 5:00 p. m. CST. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the Church on Wednesday, September 21. Anna passed away Friday, September 16, 2016 at Marion Manor Health Care Center in Glen Ullin. Anna Erhart was born December 1, 1916 in rural Glen Ullin, the daughter of Mathias and Johanna (Olheiser) Erhart. She grew up on the family farm and attended country school in the St. Joe area. As a young girl she spent time working on the farm and assisting area families with house work. She also worked at the grocery store, post office and clothing store. Anna was fond of her time working in the kitchen making hot lunch for the students of Sacred Heart Catholic School and Glen Ullin Public School. She also cooked for and catered many weddings and parties. Anna was a volunteer for the Senior Citizens and Marian Manor Healthcare Center. She enjoyed quilting and embroidery projects. Anna lived in the same home in Glen Ullin for nearly 60 years. On September 25, 1951, Anna was united in marriage to Christ Schantz at the Cathedral of the Holy Spirit in Bismarck. Christ passed away in 1962. To this union, one daughter, Marjorie, was born. Anna is survived by her daughter, Marjorie (Gary) Jaeger of Bismarck; granddaughter, Heather Jaeger of Bismarck; step-daughters Delores Knopik of Little Falls, MN and Kathy Kopp of Bismarck; and sister, Angeline Jablonsky of Dickinson. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Christ; step-daughter, Louayne Haehn; sisters, Tillie Hoerner, Josephine Frank, Pauline Schaff; and brothers, Christ, Tony and John and two infant brothers.
