Funeral Mass for Anna Urbanec, 93 of Dickinson will be 10:00 a. m. Saturday, December 17, 2005 at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Dickinson with Father Jim Braaten celebrating. Burial will follow in St. Wenceslaus Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, December 16, 2005 from 9:00 a. m. to 9:00 p. m. with a Rosary and Prayer Service held at 7:00 p. m. at Stevenson-Mischel-Olson Chapel. Anna passed away Tuesday, December 13, 2005 at St. Benedict?s Health Center in Dickinson. Anna Urbanec was born June 12, 1912, the daughter of Joe and Mary (Samek) Kostelecky. She grew up and attended country schools in Stark County. She was married to Edward Urbanec April 15, 1940. To this union, one son, Don was born. They farmed until 1951 when Anna moved into Dickinson. She worked for Mischel-Olson Chapel as a secretary for 15 years. Due to failing health, she made her home at Evergreen for over seven years until moving to St. Benedict?s Health Center where she remained until her death. She enjoyed making candy, cooking and being with her family. Anna was a life member of St. Ann?s Altar Society and St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church. Other special joys of Anna?s were embroidery, babysitting, playing cards, dancing in her younger years and enjoying the company of her nieces and nephews. Anna is survived by her son, Don Urbanec, Moorhead, MN; two sisters, Emma Semerad, Dickinson, ND; Alice Semerad, Spokane, WA; numerous nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. She was preceded by her parents, her husband, Ed, three brothers, Edward, Frank, Stanley; and two sisters, Pauline Kostelecky and Mary Kudrna.
