Funeral Mass for Anna Wandler, 103, of Dickinson is 2:00 p. m. Tuesday, August 14, 2007 at the St. Joseph?s Catholic Church with Father Dennis Schafer officiating. Burial will be in the St. Joseph?s Cemetery in Dickinson. Visitation will be Sunday August 12, 2007 from 11:00 a. m. to 9:00 p. m. and continuing Monday from 9:00 a. m. to 9:00 p. m. at Stevenson?s Funeral Home with a Rosary led by the St. Pius Verein at 7:00 p. m. and a vigil service to follow. Visitation continues on Tuesday from 8:00 a. m until one hour prior to the service at the Stevenson Funeral Home. Anna passed away on Thursday, August 9, 2007 at the St. Luke?s Home in Dickinson. Anna Glassser was born on August 26, 1904, the daughter of Simon and Helen (Klein) Glasser at Glenn Ullin, ND. She grew up and attended school in Glenn Ullin. As a young girl Anna, moved with her family to Mott, ND. In her early years she worked at the Mott Hotel before her marriage. Anna was married to Peter J. Wandler on November 20, 1923 at St. Placidus Catholic Church. After marriage they moved to the Scheffield area where they began farming. In 1944 they moved to the Lefor area where they also farmed. Anna and Peter moved to Dickinson in 1948 and have made it there home since. Anna worked at Don?s Caf? in Dickinson for the next ten years. After retiring, Anna enjoyed babysitting her grandchildren especially Jay, as he was born the day Jack?s Family Restaurant started. Her husband Peter passed away in 1973. Anna?s family enjoyed her baking and apple strudels. Anna also liked music, and loved to dance. She enjoyed spending time with all of her family at the gatherings. Even though she didn?t want anyone to know how old she was, she was still proud of her age and was very self sufficient. In 1995 Anna made her home at St. Luke?s Home. Anna was a member of the St. Joseph?s Catholic Church and the St. Pius Verein. She was a past member of the German Hungarian Club and St. Anthony?s Club. Survivors include, a son, Jack (Carrie) Wandler, Dickinson; two daughters, Bernice (August) Zastoupil and Monica (Arnold) Steiner, both of Dickinson; a son-in-law, John Martin, Dickinson; 11 grandchildren: Craig Wandler, Todd (Carol) Wandler, Jay (Jen) Wandler all of Dickinson, Brent (Rhonda) Wandler, Bozeman, MT, Allen (Tami) Steiner, Wanda (Ken) Weflen, Marvin (Heidi) Zastoupil, Judy (Dale) Burwick and Pam (Larry) Melchior all of Dickinson, Jim Martin and Karen (Bill) Glaser all of Big Timber, 24 great-grandchildren, 8 great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Peter; daughter, Marilyn Martin; four brothers and eight sisters; two grandchildren, Dale Steiner and Diane Zastoupil.
