Funeral Mass for Anton ?Tony? Elberg, 95 of Dickinson will be 1:00 p. m. Saturday, February 26, 2005 at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church with Father Jerome Kautzman, Celebrating. Interment will follow in the St. Joseph?s Cemetery in Dickinson. Visitation will be Friday from 9:00 a. m. to 9:00 p. m. , with a Rosary and Vigil at 7:00 p. m. at Stevenson-Mischel-Olson Chapel. Visitation will continue on Saturday, 8:00 a. m. to 12:00 p. m. at the Stevenson-Mischel-Olson Chapel. Tony passed away Tuesday, February 22, 2005 at St. Benedict?s Health Center in Dickinson. Tony was born on March 23, 1909 in Richardton, the son of Anton and Elizabeth (Stoll) Elberg. He grew up and attended the St. Joseph?s School in Dickinson. Tony began working for the Lehigh Briquette Plant as a student under the direction of Edward Prostel. Tony was married to Edna Fiksdal on July 25, 1935. In 1937 they moved to Estevan, Canada where Tony managed Dominion Briquette Plant. They returned to Dickinson in 1963 where Tony managed Husky Industries which was later the Royal Oak Briquette Plant until retiring in 1981. Edna passed away in 1981. Over the years Tony managed eight plants throughout the US and one in Canada and ended up Vice President of operations. While in Canada he helped organize junior softball teams and received the Boy Scout Award for his efforts. Tony was married to Evelyn Krauter on September 28, 1983 and together they made their home in Dickinson. Tony was an honorary member of the Canadian Legion and an Eagles member. He enjoyed watching the NFL football especially the Vikings and the Packers. He also enjoyed reading novels and history, traveling, working in the garden and watching a John Wayne movie. Tony?s special love was for his wife, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Survivors include his wife, Evelyn, Dickinson; three sons, Frank (Collen) Elberg, Estevan, Sask. , Bob (Shirley) Elberg, Regina, Sask. and Dale (Clara) Elberg, Atlanta, GA; a step-son, Dale (Pam) Roller, Dickinson, 10 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Edna, a brother, John, two sisters, Catherine Elberg and Mary Hatzenbuhler.
