Funeral Service for Anton F. Schiwal, 86, of Dickinson is 2:00 p. m. Tuesday,August 1, 2006 at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Dickinson with Father Dennis Schafer officiating. Visitation is Monday, July 31, 2006 from 12:00 p. m. to 9:00 p. m. with a Rosary being recited at 8:00 p. m. at Stevenson-Mischel-Olson Chapel in Dickinson. Tony passed away, Friday, July 28, 2006 at St. Benedict?s Health Center in Dickinson. Anton Schiwal was born October 24, 1919 to Joseph and Katherine Huth Schiwal. He grew up and attended country school near Lefor, and later worked for area ranches and farms. On April 26, 1949, Anton married Martha Roller at Belfield, North Dakota. To this union, five children were born: Howard, Robert, Wayne, Kenneth, and an infant baby who preceded him in death. Aside from a few years, the family made their home in Mott, ND. Anton worked at the grain elevator for ten years and then the next twenty years in construction until 1982, when he retired. In 1994, they moved to Dickinson where they made their home since. Due to failing health, Tony made his home at St. Benedict?s Heath Center. Anton enjoyed old time music, cards, and visiting. He loved and enjoyed his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Tony was a member of St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church and a charter member of the Knight of Columbus. He is survived by his wife: Martha of Dickinson; four sons: Howard (Faye) Schiwal of New England, Robert (Linda) Schiwal of, Albuquerque, NM, Wayne Schiwal, and Kenneth Schiwal, both of Dickinson; three brothers: Paul (Leona) Schiwal of Dickinson; Francis (Shirley) Schiwal , and John () Schiwal all of Salt Lake City, UT; three sisters: Rose Marie Huschka of Taylor, ND, Joane (Jerry) Todd of Omaha, NE, Kathryn Huschka of Dickinson; three grandchildren: Bonnie Schiwal of New Jersey, Brian Schiwal of New Hampshire, and Leslie Tippin of Albuquerque, NM; and two great-granddaughters: Courtney and Taylor. He is preceded in death by his parents, and an infant baby.
