Tony Weber was born April 2, 1926 on a farm south of Dickinson, the son of Valentine and Flora (Glaser) Weber. He grew up on the family farm and attended St. Pius School in Sheffield. In 1947, Tony and Georgianna Braun were united in marriage. It was during this time that Tony enlisted in the US Army. He served from 1952 to 1954 as a dispatcher for the 34th Transportation Truck Company, most of which was in Butzbach, Germany. After being honorably discharged, Tony returned to Dickinson and began a 36-year career digging graves for local funeral homes. He also owned and operated Weber’s Delivery and Excavation for 29 years. After Georgianna’s passing in 1991, Tony married Veronica “Roni” Schoch on September 19, 1991 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Dickinson. Together, Tony and Roni made their home in Dickinson.

Tony began his life with the love of music and began playing his first button accordion at age six. By 17, he was playing for public dances. Over his 66-year career, Tony played accordion with over 100 band members throughout ND, SD, and MT. While serving in the Army, he played accordion throughout Germany with a four-piece civilian band. Tony was fortunate to play with the Johnny Haider Band for six months while they were in Mandan. For many years, Tony’s Orchestra could be heard playing live on KDIX radio every Sunday afternoon. Tony’s love of music came through in playing for others and serving as Band Leader.

He loved and enjoyed horses and made harnesses and wagons for model Breyer horses. Tony was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, St. Anthony Club, Eagles Club and Knights of Columbus. He was also an Elector for the IPA-International Polka Association for the Polka Hall of Fame in Chicago from 1974 to 2008.

Tony is survived by his wife, Roni; sister-in-law, Eleanor Weber of Dickinson; nephews, Curtis (Noreen) Langendorff of Lewistown, MT; Charles Langendorff, Clarence (Jeannie) Langendorff, Creyton (Debbie) Langendorff, and Conrad (Mary) Langendorff all of Great Falls, MT; niece, Linda (Leonard) McNee of Great Falls, MT; and numerous brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, cousins, friends and neighbors. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Georgianna; brother, Henry; and sisters, Barbara (Duane) Langendorff, Eva Weber, and Agnes (Bill) Wychanko.
