Funeral Mass for Antone “Tony” Wolf, 97, of Dickinson, formerly of Belfield, will be 10:00 am, Friday, December 2, 2022 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Dickinson with Father Justin Waltz celebrating. Burial will follow in St. Joseph’s cemetery.
Visitation for Tony will be 4:00-6:00 pm, Thursday, December 1st at Stevenson Funeral Home in Dickinson with a rosary and vigil service being held at 6:00 pm.
Tony passed away Monday, November 28, 2022 at St. Benedict’s Health Care, Dickinson.
Antone Wolf was born April 15, 1925 in Stark County, the son of Raphael and Barbara (Eberts) Wolf. He grew up on the family farm between South Heart and Belfield and attended country school. Tony began working on the farm at a young age and his love for the farm grew deep in his blood. He loved farming his entire life! Tony also broke horses in his younger days. On November 6, 1951, Tony married Rose Schmidt at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Dickinson. Their marriage was blessed with seven sons and two daughters. The family was raised farming and running a dairy operation west of South Heart. In the early 1970’s, Tony began Wolf Custom Harvesting. Along with his sons, they traveled throughout the Midwest custom combining. He was a hard worker. His grandchildren will remember his help with their paper routes and stopping by the gas station for pizza and snacks. Tony and Rose retired from the farm in 1999 and moved to Belfield before making their final home at Evergreen in Dickinson.
Tony enjoyed snowmobiling with his neighbors in his early days and then later playing cards, celebrating many names days, and being a part of a card club. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in South Heart, and when moving into Belfield, then became a member of Bernard’s Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus and the Eagles Club.
Tony is survived by six sons, Duane (Jackie) Wolf of Dickinson, Keith (Susan) Wolf of Belfield, Tim Wolf (Marie) of AZ, Bryan (Barb) Wolf of Dickinson, Rod (Mony) Wolf of Dickinson, and Ken (Crissy) Wolf of Belfield; two daughters, Kelly (Jeff) Goetz of Bismarck, Sheryl (Curt) Binstock of Dickinson; daughter-in-law, Janel Wolf of Belfield; 20 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great grandchild; sister-in-law, Edith Wolf of Killdeer; and many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Raphael & Barbara Wolf; brother, Edwin Wolf; wife, Rose (2020); son, David (2016); son-in-law, Jim Roberts (2005); step-father, Mike Olheiser; step-bothers, Pete Olheiser and Martin Olheiser; and step-sister, Magdalene Kuntz.
