Funeral services for Ardith Vozabal, 71, of Dickinson will be 10:00 a. m. Thursday, April 8, 2010, at Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Dickinson with Father Jeff Zwack celebrating. Burial will follow at Dickinson Cemetery. Visitation for Ardith will take place from 9:00 a. m. to 5:00 p. m. Tuesday, April 6, 2010, continuing from 9:00 a. m. to 9:00 p. m. on Wednesday, April 7, 2010, at Stevenson Funeral Home with a Rosary and Vigil Service taking place at 7:30 p. m. Ardith passed away Thursday, April 1, 2010, at St. Benedicts Health Center in Dickinson. Ardith Louise Vozabal was born to Ralph Rohr, Sr. and Iva (Funk) Rohr on July 24, 1938. She was raised by Joe and Magdalena Dolezal. She grew up and attended country school in Regent before attending St. Patrick?s Catholic School in Dickinson. Ardith graduated from Dickinson High School in 1955 and continued her education at Dickinson State Teacher?s College. On March 4, 1957, she married Joseph Wallace Vozabal at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Dickinson. During this time she taught for two years near Manning at the Wilman School, a one-room schoolhouse. Ardith and Joe, along with their daughter, Mari-Jo, made their home in Billings, MT, and Casper, WY, before returning to Dickinson in 1966, where Ardith worked as a secretary to James Randal, who was the superintendent of public schools. In 1970, they moved to St. Paul, MN, and Ardith worked at the Television Service Labs, where Joe was manager. They then moved briefly to Hettinger before returning to St. Paul where Ardith worked in a toy factory making the ?Cootie? game. In 1979, Ardith and Joe returned to their hometown of Dickinson. Ardith spent the rest of her life in Dickinson helping her family with their business adventures: Joe?s Video, Memories by Joey and The Academy of Dance. She also taught Campfire and Sparks and religion class at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church. Ardith was a great supporter of the arts and was known as a very selfless person, giving to anyone she could. She was an avid seamstress, creating quilts and countless doll clothes. Ardith?s greatest love was for her family, and she cherished each moment with them. Ardith will be greatly missed by her husband, Joe, Dickinson; daughter, Mari-Jo ?Joey? (John) Cote, Dickinson; granddaughter Heather (Conway) Heupel, Dickinson; great-grandson Dominique Avant Heupel; brothers Ralph (Corle) Rohr, Jr. , King City, Oregon; Dale Rohr, Roosevelt, Utah; and Ken (Sherry) Rohr, Detroit, MI; and sister, Virginia Remington, Summer, WA. She is preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Iva; Joe and Magdalena Dolezal; and a sister, Ramona James.
