Memorial Services for Arlene Kappel, 54, of Dickinson will be 2 p. m. , Saturday, February 21, 2009 at Days Inn Grand Dakota Lodge, Dickinson, ND with Travis Smith officiating. On Friday, February 13, 2009 Arlene Kappel, full of faith and conviction in the Bible?s promise of a resurrection to eternal life in paradise on earth, fell asleep in death at the age of 54. Arlene was born on August 31, 1954 to Leo and Evelyn Dorval. She was taught the truth about Jehovah, the Most High God, and was baptized at age 14 on May 12, 1968. On June 11, 1977 she married the love of her life, Jeff Kappel, and they enjoyed 32 years of a beautiful marriage. Together they raised two beloved daughters, Dawn Allyson and Melissa Lynn Kappel. Arlene was a woman of integrity and of deep rooted faith and spirituality. She lived a rich life, spending her years in devoted service to Jehovah in the ministry and in encouraging her spiritual brothers and sisters to exercise faith and trust in Jehovah. Some of her most cherished experiences include visiting Bethel and attending Annual Meeting, taking many, many beautiful and memorable road trips with her husband Jeff, going to Paris with Melissa and visiting her dearly loved sister Bernice. She often hosted gourmet breakfast, brunch, lunch, dinner and horderve parties for the friends. She found great pleasure in showing warm Christian hospitality, year after year, to the many friends who came to serve in unassigned territory in ND. Arlene Kappel was widely loved and respected for her sincere love of God and neighbor and her loyal friendship. She is survived by her husband Jeffery Kappel; her two daughters Dawn Kappel, Melissa Kappel; her parents Leo and Evelyn Dorval; her siblings Larry Dorval, Bernice Marshall and other family members and many friends.
