Funeral services for Arlene Pfenning, 81, of Hebron, will be 11:00 a. m. CDT, Monday, January 16, 2017 at St. John UCC Church with Pastor Gaylund Olson officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Arlene Pfenning, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, passed away Thursday, January 12, 2017 at Sanford Health Sunset Drive in Mandan, NDArlene was born June 12th, 1935, the daughter of John and Emilia “Martin” Riedlinger. She attended a country school west of Hebron. Arlene went to Hebron High School for two years and graduated from American School. Arlene married Bernard Pfenning on October 28th, 1952. To this union two children were born, Gaylen and Sheila. Arlene taught cub scouts for many years and was always helping out with Sunday school. She worked very hard as a CNA for 27 years at Marion Manor in Glen Ullin. Arlene made many great friends during those years. She loved crossword puzzles and spending her time embroidering dish towels for everyone. Arlene is survived by her son, Gaylen (Sharon) Pfenning; two sisters, Marilyn Helm, Violet (Llloyd) Schopp; granddaughter, Suzann (Ryan) Scheid; grandson, Jeremy (Katie) Boehm; great-grandkids, Morgan and Lance Scheid, Madison, Jenna, Brantley Boehm; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents John and Emilia; husband, Bernard; daughter, Sheila Boehm; son-in-law, Gerald Boehm; brother-in-law, Norbert Helm, and grandson Jessi Boehm.
