A Funeral Service for Arlin Reindel, 73, of New England, will be at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, April 6, 2021 at Stevenson Funeral Home, Dickinson, with Pastor Mike Pretzer officiating. Burial will follow at the ND Veteran's Cemetery in Mandan. Visitation will be one hour prior at the church. Military Honors provided by Anton Ulijohn Post #66.

Arlin passed away Tuesday, March 30, 2021 at his home in New England.

Arlin was born September 23, 1947; the son of Frank and Arlene (Geerts) Reindel. He grew up in Regent, graduating from Regent High School in 1965. Arlin joined the U.S. Army in 1966 and served until his Honorable Discharge in 1969. He then went to work for Slope Electric. For the next 45 years he worked as a lineman and later in the office supporting the line crews. Arlin married LaVon Jorstad on November 14, 1970 in Regent.

Arlin meticulously cared for his lawn, yard, garden, and flowers. He enjoyed tinkering in his shop and hosting NDSU Bison game day activities. Arlin enjoyed fishing and pheasant hunting with family and friends. He loved watching his grandchildren’s activities and playing cards with his great- nieces and nephews. Arlin never met a stranger and could visit with anyone, finding local connections with people across the country.

Arlin was a proud member of The American Legion Post 66 for 51 years. He served on the New England Volunteer Fire Department, including many years as Assistant Chief. He was also a member of the IBEW 714.

Arlin is survived by his wife of 50 years, LaVon; children Craig (Jolene Britton) Reindel of Bowman, Kim (Scott) Hoppe of Fargo; grandchildren Katelyn and Zachary Hoppe; brothers and sisters Bernie Reindel of Harvey, Rita (Kevin) Stoltz of New England, Carl (Pam) Reindel of The Dalles, OR, Dee (Darrell) Frank of Dickinson; sister-in-law Karla (Terry) Fichter of Dickinson; brother-in-law Ray Jorstad and sisters-in-law Annetta Jesch, Arlys (Allen) Schmidt and Bernadine Jorstad; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Arlin is preceded in death by his parents and parents-in-law Roy and Edna Jorstad; brother Ray (Butch) Reindel and brother-in-law Marvin Jorstad.
