Funeral services for Arnold Staiger, 84, of Hebron, ND will be 10:30 a. m. CDT, on Saturday, July 10, 2010 at the First Baptist Church in Hebron. Burial will follow in the Congregational Cemetery in Hebron. Visitation will be from 4:00 p. m. to 8:00 p. m. CDT on Friday, July 9, 2010 at the First Baptist Church in Hebron. Arnold passed away on Tuesday, July 6, 2010 with his family by his side at the Richardton HealthCare Center in Richardton, ND. Arnold Staiger was born June 27, 1926 to Henry and Bertha (Trautman) Staiger on the family farm in rural Grant County. He grew up on the farm and attended country school. Arnold continued to work on the farm with his father until he took the farm over in 1946. On December 26, 1947 he married the love of his life, Violet Karch, at the Bethany Congregational Church south of Hebron. After marriage the couple made their home on the farm. To this union three children were born, Clyde, Cheryl and Kevin. The couple continued to make their home on the farm until January 2010 when Arnold became a resident at the Richardton HealthCare Center, where he resided until his passing. Arnold enjoyed listening to old time music and dancing. He also enjoyed playing cards with his friends and family members. Arnold?s hobby was his job. He loved being on the farm. His favorite times were those spent with his loving grandchildren. Arnold was a member of the First Congregational Church in Hebron, where he served as Deacon for many years. Arnold is survived by his wife of 63 years, Violet, Hebron, ND; children, Clyde (Jackie) Staiger, Hebron, ND, Cheryl (Kent) Hoerauf, Hettinger, ND and Kevin (Antoinette) Staiger, Hebron, ND; grandchildren, Shiann Staiger, Cody (Amber) Staiger, Kristopher (KaSondra) Staiger, Joshua (Lindsay) Staiger, Bradley (Abby) Staiger, Sarah (Todd) Patterson and Andrew (Lori) Hoerauf; a great-grandchild, Ava Violet Staiger; sisters, Alma (Ervin) Specht, Bismarck, ND and Ella Schroeder, Bismarck, ND along with numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, two infant brothers, sister, Irene Maas and an infant sister.
