Funeral Mass for Arthur Dorval, 89 of Dickinson will be 10:00 a. m. Tuesday, February 1, 2005 at St. Joseph?s Catholic Church with Father Dennis Schafer celebrating. Interment will follow in the St. Patrick?s Cemetery in Dickinson. Visitation will be Sunday from 4:00 p. m. to 9:00 p. m. , continuing on Monday from 9:00 a. m. to 9:00 p. m. with a Rosary at 7:00 p. m. at Stevenson-Mischel-Olson Chapel, Dickinson. Tuesday visitation will be from 8:00 a. m. to 9:00 a. m. at Stevenson-Mischel-Olson Chapel. Art passed away Thursday, January 27, 2005 at St. Benedict?s Health Center in Dickinson. He was born January 12, 1916, the son of George and Bertha Dorval on the Nerre Dorval homestead near Gaylord, North Dakota where he lived for 73 ? years. He attended the Dorval rural school through the eighth grade. On December 5, 1940, Arthur was married to Pauline Kytoichuk at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Wibaux, MT. They lived on the family homestead where they raised their family and Arthur farmed for 63 years. He also worked for Stark County, the highway department and Buxsa Construction. After Arthur retired from farming, they made their home in Dickinson. Arthur enjoyed dancing, pitching horseshoes, playing cards, dice and especially loved the company of his friends and family. He was a member of St. Joseph?s Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus and the Eagles. Survivors include: his wife, Pauline, Dickinson; a son, Roger (DeEtta) Dorval, Dickinson; five daughters: Sharon (Paul) Wentzel, Burnsville, MN, Pat (Jim) Gillquist, Faribault, MN, Deb (Ben) Kostelecky, South Heart, ND, Karen (Gene) Dowhaniuk, Dickinson, and Paula (Dave) Decker, Dickinson; a brother, Clarence (Dorothy) Dorval, Belfield; two sisters, Lorraine Burwick, Dickinson and Angela Cossette, Hoarace, ND; thirteen grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his step-mother; and two brothers, Wilmer and Archie.
