Arthur Krein, 99, of Richardton, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, March 18, 2015 at Marion Manor in Glen Ullin. Arthur A. Krein was born October 30, 1915 in Antelope, ND, the son of John J. and Marie (Koch) Krein. He grew up and attended country school in the Antelope area. He began farming south of Hebron as a young man. On February 19, 1941, Arthur and Alvina Heinle were united in marriage at First Baptist Church in Hebron. To this union four children were born: Arlis, Kenneth, Edith, and Perry. Together the couple farmed for a short time on the farm south of Hebron before moving to a farm near Antelope. Arthur and Alvina actively farmed from 1941 to 1979. They continued to live on the farm until November 2007 when they briefly moved to Bismarck for Alvina’s treatment. Later in 2008, the couple moved to Park Avenue Villa in Dickinson. Alvina passed away October 19, 2008. In September of 2014, Arthur made his final home at Marion Manor in Glen Ullin. He was a lifelong member of the First Baptist Church in Hebron serving as Sunday school teacher, trustee and deacon over the years. Arthur enjoyed hunting both big game and birds as well as spending time fishing, restoring antique furniture, and attending auction sales. He enjoyed meeting and visiting with new people and never met a stranger. He is survived by his son, Kenneth (Shari) of Richardton; daughters, Arlis (Larry) Friez of Farmington, NM, and Edith Will of Bismarck; seven grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; eleven great-great-grandchildren; and a brother, Isadore Krein of Glen Ullin. Arthur was preceded in death by his wife, Alvina; son, Perry; son-in-law, Roger Will; parents, John and Marie Krein; step-mother, Martha; brothers, Leo and Howard; and sisters, Adela, Viola, and Vivian.
