Avonnee passed away Thursday, November 13, 2014 at her home in Baker. Avonnee Hazel Weldele was born July 2, 1950 in Scobey, MT to Dennis and Hazel (Nakken) Weldele. She grew up and attended school in Scobey before following her love, Gary Shipstead to Missoula where they eventually were married on October 1, 1971. A year later, the couple made their way to Glasgow where Gary became employed in farm implement repair. Soon after, they began their family and were blessed with 3 children: Tadus, Korina and Arlin. While living in Glasgow, the family enjoyed numerous camping excursions in the nearby surrounding areas. In 1985, the family moved to Baker where they would make their final home. Over the years, Avonnee provided love and care for many children in the communities they lived in. Because of her creativity, Avonnee enjoyed many types of crafts, particularly embroidery. Avonnee also liked to spend time outdoors whether gardening or for leisure. She had a fondness for animals and always had pets in her home. Those who knew Avonnee would know she was very inquisitive; always asking questions of which she needed an immediate answer. Above all, Avonnee had a tremendously deep love for her Grandchildren. She will be missed by her family. Avonnee is survived by her loving husband, Gary; three children, Tadus (Cole) Shipstead, Leeds, UT, Korina Shipstead and Arlin (Lana) Shipstead, all of Baker; grandchildren: Makenzy, Lillian and Madigan Shipstead and Bryce and Chelsea Kramlick; her mother, Hazel Weldele of Scobey; a sister, Myrtle (Scott) Boreson of Glasgow; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Dennis; and two brothers, Lavern and Merel. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Team Shipstead MDA Find a Cure to SMA.
